Owens Fashion

In true Owens fashion Ren's cold moved its way down into his chest. Another visit to the pediatrician and a round of Amoxicillin for him. The same night Ren started the "croupy" cough so did I. Kelly hasn't slept much between tending to Ren and my couching all night. The chest cold has not stopped me from working in the Christmas trees so far. Neither has it interrupted Ren's daily routine with Mommy except she doesn't take him to the hen house to get the eggs. His diarrhea has slowly improved also. We have been giving him probiotics when we bottle feed him and I think it is helping. I just hope the antibiotic doesn't reverse everything we have been doing for the diarrhea.

My babies poop aside here are some things that have been going on lately. We went to the mountains Sunday for an afternoon visit with both sets of grandparents. They had not seen him in a couple weeks and boy they all had missed him. Dinner at Mamaw and Papaw Berry's then off to Nana and Paw Owens. Dad had bought him a book and Ren sat in his lap for a good long time while Dad read to him. We will be going back up on Thanksgiving to do it all over again with more family coming into town.

Another change worth talking about is the high chair. He is about to outgrow the bouncy seat and frankly he was just tired of being in it so Kelly set up the high chair and he loves it. She puts him in it while she cooks and while we eat at the table. He plays with a jar lid and some toys and entertains himself quite well until everything gets out of reach. He will give it one honest effort to reach for the object then he lets us know he can't do it. Scoot it over to him and all is well. It seems like only last week he could barely even hold his own head up... Now look....

Kelly's nephew Luke Ramsey and his wife Anna came by Saturday before last and had a nice visit. We talked about Christmas, family, Germany (Anna is from Germany), and politics. It is interesting to get some political insight from an Iraq war veteran. Luke is a smart and well versed young man on real world things. Anyway I took some shots while they were there and I thought they turned out great.
